The 2025 Eagle Awards Luncheon and Business Forum celebrates local minority-owned companies’ successes and recognizes their achievements and contributions to our community and local economy. The day includes the Business Forum, a professional development program, and culminates with the annual Eagle Awards. The Speaker is Kalisha Dessources Figures, Ph.D, Founder and Chief Strategist of KDF Strategies, a social impact firm specializing in organization-wide strategic planning and strategic partnerships. Dr. Figures has served in two presidential Administrations and has a passion for developing and connecting the next generation of emerging leaders. The 2025 Eagle Awards will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa.

Presenter:  Dr. Thomas E. Nelson, PhD, Associate Professor of Management, University of South Alabama

Dr. Nelson works with entrepreneurs, students, and business owners to help them create and grow their businesses, as well as their own personal competencies. As a Simple™ consultant, he provides AI enablement tools and practical frameworks that help teams act quickly and adapt effectively. He also serves as Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of South Alabama, preparing the next generation of leaders to apply AI and entrepreneurship in their careers.
